BOREDOM BUSTERS
Banish the boredom, with these great ideas:
- Visit a friend or invite someone over.
- Make a card to send to a relative or friend.
- Build a tower either by connecting construction bricks or even stacking pillows and cushions - half the fun is knocking it over!
- Have a treasure hunt, hide 10 ten cent pieces around the house and garden and see how long it takes to find them all. (If your child is really good let he or she keep everything they find).
- Make a tent under the table or use some chairs and blankets and let your child create their own space to play in.
- Put on a music/dance video and learn to dance.
- Start a boredom busting box with pipecleaners, straws, glue, cardboard rolls etc. You can ask your child to make you something (like a rocket, an insect or a car).
- Make up a book about your child and have them illustrate it.
- Two wooden spoons and a balloon are a great alternative to tennis, use the spoons as racquets and either play together or one person can play on their own - seeing how long they can keep the balloon up for.
- Gently unstick a cereal box, and restick it together with the grey side out, redecorate the box using textas, glitter, stickers etc.
- Wrapping paper is always useful, grab a large sheet of paper and have your child illustrate it with textas, pencils, crayons or paint.
- Collect some large brown leaves and flatten them between two books, decorate the leaves with crayons and make a collage by sticking them on an A4 sheet of paper.
