Our Story
Where to start with who we are!? It's a long story - so how much time do we have?
In 2009 Mum, Trish, purchased Toyworld in Hamilton. I had just finished High School so jumped in to work for my Gap Year. Charles (my brother) was still finishing High School and Dad, Malcolm, was busy farming full time at Nareen. To make it a real family show - Charles' now wife Ainslee worked in Toyworld Hamilton with us in 2012 before heading off to University to complete her teaching degree. I also stepped away from the business and went off to University to complete my teaching degree. In 2018 Trish purchased Toyworld Ballarat and continued to run Toyworld Hamilton. Then in 2019 she also added Toyworld Horsham and JustJuniors (because she wasn't busy enough). Dad also sold up the farm at Nareen and moved into cropping at Natimuk. This prompted Trish to move to Natimuk as well and Charles, Ainslee and I all followed soon after!
Jumping forward to 2024, I had moved to Balmoral with my partner Scott and we welcomed our first child Archie in January. Trish had since sold Toyworld Ballarat and continued to focus on Hamilton and Horsham. Juggling teaching seemed quite difficult with a little person and uncertainty around child care so I jumped back into retail work as we moved our Toyworld Hamilton location in July 2024. I'm now back working in the JustJuniors space while Trish is the person who manages all things toys and the background book work that no one wants to do.
Malcolm & Charles are busy on the farm and will often get the call up to help move boxes between Horsham and Hamilton, build shelving and all other jobs that we need done. Scott jumps in to help as our resident electrician when he isn't sheep farming and Ainslee is always quick to answer a call up and help when she isn't busy teaching full time.
You can often find three generations hanging out in the store!
